Whenever I get a call from telemarketers, they always say, "Hi, are your parents home?"
I just say no.

What's new?

1. New golf clubs! I've had the same golf clubs for a long time. Esther's been encouraging me to get some new ones for awhile, but I've resisted. I've actually been hitting my irons better than ever before these days. But, last week, I went to Redtail Golf Center and bought some new ones. They are beautiful to say the least. Unfortunately, I can't hit them worth a darn. I've been to the range 2 times and I'm still hitting my old ones better than my new ones. I guess sometimes, I should just leave good enough alone. Oh well. Too late now. I'm committed. I guess I'll be going to the range a lot this week.

2. Weekends are busy! I'm the type that likes to just chill during the weekends, but I was looking at my schedule and my weekends are booked! Last week, I went to LA. I have one weekend off, but after that, I'm going to Mexico. The weekend after that, we're taking our church youth group camping. The weekend after that Andy is coming to visit. The weekend after that Esther and I are going to Seattle for a CE course on esthetic dentistry. That same weekend, my dad and two uncles are coming to town for the Pastor's convention. I guess I won't be doing too much chillin on the weekends until September, just in time for the start of football season!

3. I guess that's it for "what's new?" I guess what's new is that nothing's really new. As Solomon said, "there is nothing new under the sun." hehe That describes my life. Routine, boring. Most people might find that depressing. I love it. Change is stressful. Routine is fun. My wife tells me that I'm boring sometimes. Ya think?! hehe Poor girl.

4. Golf is frustrating. I remember a teacher in school telling us that she never swears, except sometimes when she golfs (but that doesn't really count, she said). I went to the range with Esther last night and she's been struggling with her swing. After starting out well, she's hit a slump. Anybody who's golfed knows what that feels like. Nothing can piss you off like golf. My poor wife. I could see the frustration mounting. She immediately went and signed up for her next lesson. Anybody who's dedicated to the game knows that there is much frustration and disappointment along the journey, but it's worth it and that's part of what makes it such a beautiful game. It's all about stickin to it when times are rough, persevering and growing. It's kind of like life. What a beautiful game. Anybody can try something and quit as soon as they struggle. It takes character to stick it out and become a scratch handicapper. =) This is my ode to all struggling golfers. Keep your head up and keep on keepin on. (Esther, Kev, me)

I think I am...

I think I'm officially...

1. A Northwesterner. We were in southern California this past weekend, and I thought I was going to die from the heat! I even got a very embarrassing rash on my face (it looked like a mustache!). Also at the end of the day, I felt as though I had a layer of debris on my skin. When I was living down there, I was fine, but now that I got my taste of the PNW, I can't go back! When Dan and I used to live in Redlands, we lived in a small 1,200 sq ft. loft above an endodontist. It was really old and...really old, but we loved living there! Since the place was fairly small, our electricity bill each month was around $12. But one month (summer started), we got a bill for over $400! We were like there has to be a mistake. We thought maybe they combined our bill with the endodontist's downstairs. But nope. It was just really hot, and we used a lot of ac. Jeez! That's like 400 bean burritos! (Dan's currency)

2. An ajumma. This weekend, Dan's mom gave me a bag of really good gochu garu, and it made me so happy! Some other ajumma symptoms I've been having? Sharing kimchi's and banchans, golfing with a bunch of other "ajummas," scolding stranger kids jaywalking... Oh boy, I think I need to go watch me some spongebob squarepants.

3. A Lee. I just received my new social security card. I am Esther Jihae Lee. For those of you who knew me as Esther Chung for the most of my life, did you know that until 2003, my official name was Ji Hae Chung? Well, I do like being a Lee. We visited Dans family this weekend because it was his dad's 60th birthday. Dan's family is very different form mine. I remember when we first started dating, I would wonder why they were all mad at each other. They don't talk, they yell. And if you know mine, we don't talk, we squeak. Haha, just kidding...well kinda. The funny thing is, at home, I think I act like a Lee and Dan acts like a Chung. Well, not completely, but more so that in public.

4. Sick of DBS. I love DBS. Everytime we go down to California, we plan on eating DBS. And everytime we do, I overeat, and I hate it! It makes me feel gross for about a week, and then I love it again. I never learn.
5. In love with these girls. How could you not?

6. Tired. War In. I hope you get it...it's corny!
